The lovely couple, Megan and Don…
I first met Megan and Don at Mary & Stefan’s wedding which was a wedding that I had the honour of photographing in 2016. It’s lovely when photographing a wedding leads to photographing the wedding of family or friends who are guests at an earlier wedding! Seeing all the familiar faces again is so nice and it’s great to be able to deliver more wonderful wedding photographs for the wider family to share and enjoy.
Don’s mum jokingly apologised to me for not having any more children who needed a wedding photographer!
Bridal Preparations at Ferraris
My wedding photography day begin the cottages belonging to the wedding venue. The flowers arrived to much excitement (they were beautiful) and the bucks fizz went down nicely thank you. I love bridal prep - it’s a chance to spend some time photographing the details such as shoes, jewelry and of course the wedding dress.
The Wedding Ceremony and The Reception
There’s a beautiful garden room at Farraris which floods with light and has a lovely atmosphere. There was so much emotion to capture - bride, groom and parents showing joy which I was able to capture. I love capturing those emotional moments before, during and after the ceremony.
After celebrating outside in the lovely weather I was able to capture all those lovely candid moments - the hugs, the kisses, the smiles and the odd obscene (but not inappropriate given the circumstances) two finger gesture - all in good taste and really good fun. I love a bit of banter on the wedding day!
The speeches were great - again so much emotion and the games that the excellent Damien Kelly Wedding Host & DJ set up were a great laugh. I loved the speeches - so much to capture as you’ll see from the photographs.
The evening dancing was absolutely fantastic - boy, these families can celebrate a wedding! Again, so much for me to document.
When it got dark, we had a few minutes to nip out with the bride and groom to take some quite memorable evening portraits.
What a job eh? I love it.

Now then, you might be thinking, hang on - Christian is in Leicestershire and you’d be right but… I have family in Lancashire and I love coming up to photograph weddings because I can stay with my folks and be on your doorstep for the wedding! No problem.
