A Beautiful Summer Wedding at The Chequers Inn Woolsthorpe

Here’s a stunner of a summer wedding at the gorgeous Chequers at Woolsthorpe in the wonderful Vale of Belvoir!

Hello, I’m Christian and am I wedding photographer in The vale of Belvoir. Today, I want to show you Jack and Laura’s beautiful summer Vale of Belvoir wedding at The Chequers which is a very local venue for me - I live 8 minutes away!

The day began the the neighbouring village to my own, in the village of Redmile where Laura got ready for her big day at the family home, just a hop and a skip away from St. Peter’s Church in Redmile. It was so easy for me to nip between the two parties (the groomsmen and the bridal party) because they were in such close proximity to each other. It was great because I was able to tell the story of the morning of both parties, with the gentleman getting ready at the cottages at The Chequers.

I love capturing the dad’s first look moments! The look on dad’s face was literally a picture and it’s this type of emotion that really gets me excited about photographing weddings - capturing those once-in-lifetime-moments, the hugs, the kisses and the smiles.

When the beautiful bride was ready, it was time to make the short walk to the church which was skilfully decorated, with flowers by the very talented Fuelled by Flowers, also a local business, in the village of Redmile.

After the ceremony, which was so much fun with the excellent Reverend John (he really enjoys weddings!), we had a great newlyweds exit and more chances for me to capture all those hugs, kisses and smiles. I love these candid moments!

We took the opportunity to take some family group photographs with the lovely backdrop the church entrance and after a quick razz on the swings at the local park, it was time to make the short journey to The Chequers. The newlyweds arrived at the venue, through the natural archway to the applause of their guests. After a well-earned drink and lots of mingling, I spent a very short time with the two of them to take some couples photographs, using the very sumptuous window light in the restaurant, with the colourful lupins in the garden and with the cool wooden backdrop. All these in less than 10 minutes!

Then the speeches. It’s always a great opportunity to capture raw, unbridled laughter (providing the speeches are good!) and they were very good on this day. They certainly got the crowd animated!

one of my absolute favourite part of the wedding day is the evening, the time to get on the dncefloor and throw some moves. Nearly every bride and groom that I speak to before the wedding agree with me that photographs of the evening are hugely important and that’s exactly why I always stay later to capture the chaos of the dance floor when the drinks have flowed a bit!

It’s a very local venue for me!

So that was Jack and Laura’s wedding at The Chequers and did I mention that I live 8 minutes away! I’m perfectly positioned here in nearly Barkestone le Vale for your Chequers Wedding!
