Stunning. Beautiful. Iconic. Three words which describe one of my favourite Leicestershire wedding photography venues. Jess & Callum’s wedding took place at Normanton Church, Rutland Water, Oakham in Leicestershire.
I had the absolute pleasure of being Jess & Callum’s Oakham wedding photographer on this gorgeously sunny Rutland Water wedding day.
Bridal Preparations
My wedding photography day started at the bride’s house where bridal preparations took place. As I pulled up to the house in the lovely town of Melton Mowbray, the stunning wedding car, dressed with floral accessories, glinted in the low morning Sun.
Wedding day bridal preparations were underway - the make up artist and hair stylist were doing their thing as the atmosphere of excitement and expectation rose.
The Normanton Church Wedding Ceremony
The gentle, warming light filled the room from the ornately beautiful windows as the ceremony was enjoyed by all, especially the mother of the bride who dabbed a tear from her eye.
The newly-married bride and groom were greeted by their thrilled guests as they left the church - the lovely weather making for a perfect start to the wedding reception.
The Wedding Reception, Normanton Park Hotel
A short walk along the lakeside pathway lead us to the Best Western Normanton Park Hotel, not before a few minutes alone with the newly-married couple for some wedding day, bride and groom portraits. I love this part of the day - creating stunning portraits which the married couple will enjoy forever. That’s one of the reasons that I love being a wedding photographer.
I love it when there are fireworks. Such a spectacular way to cap off the wedding day celebrations and a wonderfully creative photographic opportunity.
