A Beautiful Brockholes Wedding

Wedding Photography Brockholes Nature Reserve

I love nature.  In fact, nature and wildlife is the very reason that I am a wedding photographer today - over a decade ago, a fleeting glimpse of a hunting barn owl was the catalyst for an obsession with capturing images with beauty and meaning. Now, I don’t get time to photograph wildlife anymore because I’m completely immersed in my new first love - wedding photography.

When Holly & Mark invited me to photograph their wedding at the beautiful Lancashire nature reserve venue, I jumped at the chance.

As you can imagine, the invitation to photograph a wedding at Brockholes Nature Reserve in Lancashire was something that I looked forward to.  The day began with the bride and groom arriving in style - the bride's choice being a stunning vintage mini in bright red. Those minis really do look so good against a clear blue sky and I really enjoyed the cool, relaxed bridal portraits that I was able to capture when Holly arrived.

Wedding Ceremony at Brockholes Nature Reserve

When dad gave daughter away and ceremoniously linked bride and groom's hands after Holly had made her entrance demonstrated that he was happy with her choice of husband. Always a good sign that the groom is a ‘good egg’!

The ceremony room at Brockholes is stunning - bright and modern, with huge panoramic windows looking out across the lake.

Bride & Groom Portraits at Brockholes

Mark & Holly enjoyed a really relaxed approach to portraits. A quick five minute walk here and there around the stunning grounds is all that’s needed to create some lovely, natural and relaxed photographs. Happy bride and groom! No onerous poses - just good old, natural happiness!
